Two Candles Down, Many More to Blow-Happy Birthday New Jack
October 27th, 2009 was the 2nd birthday of "The New Jack"
I'll admit, in two years I haven't gotten this blog nearly anywhere to the level that I've wanted it to reach. But though I may not have the readership and exposure I seek, I still gained.
I've truly gained a place to lay out all my feelings and all my experiences in the last two years. From jail to freedom, from being coupled up to single-hood and everything in between. My thoughts are deeper, and I still have a lot more growing to do but regardless of which, I've grown. From a 21 year old who just came out of college with a multitude of instant expectations to a 23 year old who finally understands that love is all that truly matters in this world.
In the last two years, I've had few solid plans. I used to believe you just do, and as long as you do you should just receive; but, I'm older now and a bit wiser. I know a couple things now about work ethic..about love...about trust...about pain...about how to rebound.
The thing that I'm proud of most is that this blog has given me the opportunity to rebound.Two years ago, this same person let the issues of her world destroy her. Now this person may get weakened by it, but always knows in the back of her mind there's a way to rebound.
Two years...

House of Jazmin
This child Jazmin, to me, is just very inspiring...
Every time I watch her show I just think about how YOUNG she is and she already has six lines under her belt and has done L.A. fashion week.
She had an appointment with Fred Segal...hello?
The fact that she's conquering all of this at the age of 19-20 means that there is no reason why I can't accomplish what I'm trying to accomplish as a socialite. No reason.

Richgirl Update: He Aint With Me Now (Tho)
Richgirl is the girl group product of my dear favorite, Amerie. Amerie, who has left Richcraft-the person who put her on the map, executive producer of her first two albums and produced her signature sound, actually has her album upcoming-"In Love & War" still afloat regardless of leaving Richcraft behind.
Richcraft's comeback scheme is Richgirl. I've been knowledgeable of Richgirl for way too long now, but just haven't felt connected to them as how I felt an instantaneous connection with Amerie.
This song annoyed me heavily at first, but like lightening it's struck me and has left my body in after shock.

Rihanna Update: A-Morir Kerin Rose "Love/Hate Convertible Chain Sunglasses"
I own only ONE pair of Prada glasses...
But, I MUST own these sunglasses by the end of the Summer..this entire outfit makes me disgustingly green with envy. I absolutely adore this woman's style, from head to toe...I really cannot speak badly about her.
This was worn by Rihanna leaving Philippe Chow Restaurant.
These A-Morir Kerin Rose glasses, I WILL own, mark my words. I will not eat for these glasses.

Paradiso Girls Update: Patron Tequila
Hmmmm...
Anyone remember "PCD Presents: Search for the Next Doll"?
....remember, Chelsea Korka...
Or Asia Nitollano, my favorite?
Or more importantly the stiffness of Robin Antin's face..
She apparently has put together a new girl group...cause of course, we all somehow didn't see Girlicious as being a Grammy-winning group....
The new group is called Paradiso Girls...made in typical Antin-fashion, very PCD-esque.
I have to admit, I'm enjoying this debut single "Patron Tequila" and the video is being directed by Ray Kay (director for The Dream's "Rockin That Thang" video)..
The debut single features Lil Jon...here's a photo of the girl group, featuring Ray Kay, Lil Jon and even Eve..as their video was shot this past weekend in Los Angeles..

The Possible Domestication of a New Jack
Its that time again...
Its becoming mid-november and im starting to ponder all the 2009 possibilities. This time last year I was in heavy review of the disaster I referred to as 2007..
Yeah disaster was most certainly the term..
Right now im writing from a school gym in Harlem that I arrived to around 9am. Im watching The Significant train his kids for little league which in the winter is referred to as "clinic".
I'm realizing maybe the New Jack needs to get a little bit more domesticated...
Watching a little boy cry and realizig that i wouldnt know what the bloody hell to do with him frightens me immensely. The Significant and 2 other guys relatively 25-26years old immediately went into damage control knowing just what to do and say to a 8year old who was crying to rebuild his confidence.
And it hir me...What the fuck would I do?
I mean its almost humorous..almost. I can't communicate with children older than the age that enables them to tell me "no". Likewise i cant communicate with children young enough to do sole crying either. I know how to cook and very well but only feel to do so when utmost necessary.
I hate to clean..
and I don't do dogs.
I refuse to potty train an animal let alone a human and some people fail to understand that some are not naturally nuturing.
Just because i have a vagina doesn't mean that I just loooove babies.
But I don't hate them either...
(My BFF Linette is convinced that's the case..)
I think 2009 might just be the year of domesticating the New Jack. I'm afraid of babies, but I do however want to get married as soon as tomorrow. Maybe, I have to force myself to...love them. I have to open the door to all these things I fear..children and dogs especially, in order to ever get married it seems.
Honestly though, if you have to force yourself into something, then isn't it just plain WRONG?
So how exactly does one become a Stepford Wife?
