Making Moves

**Warning: LONG entry

For any members of Tarot.com, you will receive a free 11-card Celtic cross, summer solstice reading. I am VERY big on tarot and astrology, so I did this one about my blogging future-something that's been in heavy contemplation on my brain these days. I'm not going to pretend that the accuracy of this did NOT freak me out, because it most certainly did...

Self: Six of Swords
Use a combination of technical skill and intuition to reach your goals.
The card in the Self position reveals aspects of how you perceive yourself right now.
When the Six of Swords is in this position, you are proving that you possess the skills to navigate challenging waters. You have equipped yourself with the tools and sensitivity to feel your way through obscure circumstances.
This card is traditionally called "science," referring to a cultivated grasp of the Laws of Nature and how to use them. You are able to feel the currents, tides and trends in this situation. Like a master sailor handling a boat, you are able to take advantage of forces at work and set your sails to take you to your goals. A combination of scientific skills and trained intuition promises to work well for you.
Situation: Seven of Cups
Make sensible choices based on self-knowledge.
The card that lands in the Situation position refers to social or circumstantial factors which could be affecting your life at this time.
When the Seven of Cups is in this position, you may be entering a climate of affirmation and opportunity, perhaps in direct contrast to what has gone before. It is as if you have broken into a clearing after hacking your way through a thicket. The possibilities are so lush it's almost embarrassing, although not all of them can be acted upon.
Be sensible. You have to know yourself well enough to determine which of all the available delights is truly for you and you alone. Take care not to be greedy in this situation. Sharpen your powers of discrimination, use your intuition, and follow your heart.
Challenges: Five of Cups
Make the best of what remains after adversity has set you back.
The card that lands in the Challenges/Opportunities position refers to ways that you can turn obstacles into stepping stones.
When the Five of Cups is in this position, maximize what is left after loss. The receiver of this card received copious potential in the five cups shown, but three of them have been upended and their contents spilled into the earth. Whether it was carelessness or destiny that spilled these cups isn't ultimately important.
What matters now is that the two full cups be tended and utilized as intelligently as possible. Resources can be built up and the core value of what was passed on can be cultivated again. You have this opportunity to make the best of what is left to you after a tumultuous upset. If you sink into depression about what is lost, you are going to get nowhere. Focus on the value that still remains, and make the best of it as optimistically as possible.
Foundation: Ten of Cups
Your inner wisdom tells you that love can indeed change the world.
The card in the Foundation position points to influences from your personal history, your roots and background.
The Ten of Cups in this position suggests that by way of your background, you have witnessed the indescribable joy that happens in people's hearts when they labor creatively and lovingly to cultivate and share the Good. Your role models created a blessing for everyone. As a result, you possess the inner certainty that a person can change the world with a persistent, faithful, optimistic labor of love.
This knowledge fuels you, even in situations where the world at large doesn't give much credence. Take the example given you and multiply it; inspire others to spread hope and be of service to the greater good. Now your dedication will also change things for the better.
Recent Past: Strength
You have passed a test of self-control and personal mastery. Now you can proceed with confidence.
The card in the Recent Past position refers to events that are just departing, recently influential but now diminishing in power.
See yourself as a sort of lion tamer -- in other words, as someone who is able to sublimate and channel their instincts and impulsive tendencies. You've gained significant self-esteem from the strong way you responded to pressure and necessity. You can be disciplined, focused and firm.
This new knowledge of your capability helps you step into the present with more self-assurance and confidence in your spiritual maturity. You have passed a test that stymies many. You deserve whatever recognition your efforts may have inspired.
Higher Power: King of Coins
Because of the high values you have stood for, your success is well deserved.
The card in the Higher Power position reflects the broader perspective and influence of your conscience, Guardian Angel, inner wisdom.
When the King of Coins comes up in this position, you are being acknowledged for a steadfast commitment to success. You deserve your success because you have followed through and taken responsibility for every step. The rewards you receive are well earned, no matter how generous they seem.
Continue representing the loftiest values by how you deploy those rewards. Your higher nature recognizes the progress you've made. You are earning your stripes and leaving the world a better place than when you came in.
Near Future: King of Cups
As you cultivate calm within yourself, you will gain a greater ability to see and understand.
The card in the Near Future position indicates which way the wind is blowing with regard to your situation. If you follow the Advice card, however, you can improve on or neutralize tendencies.
When the King of Cups is in this position, you are ready to embrace a higher state of awareness and evoke a greater sensitivity to more subtle aspects of life. Rewards are coming for which you labored long and hard.
They are not external or visible, however. Rather, these are emotional, psychic and spiritual rewards. As you enjoy their abundance, the resulting attunement can bring you into harmony and balance in a way that you once only fantasized about. Now it can truly be yours.
Enjoy this upcoming experience of peace, and as you do so, take careful notice of it so you can learn to reproduce it.
Inhibitions: Page of Swords
Don't allow yourself to duplicate the burdens or negativity of those around you.
The card in the Blocks position points to self-undermining tendencies, areas where you could be in denial, where you could get stuck -- unless you examine yourself and make some corrections.
When the Page of Swords (in some decks, a Princess) falls in this position, you are struggling with a negative viewpoint, focused on what could go wrong and where people might fail you. This is a truly defensive attitude. As you allow challenging people around you to influence your state of mind, you are beginning to resemble the very people you feel threatened by.
Don't allow the streak of suspicion and watchfulness in this card to become hyper-vigilance. If you begin to be edgy, feeling that at any moment a disaster could arise, put some distance between yourself and the situation. Indulge in experiences that don't produce fight or flight reactions. Just because we are sometimes in stressful and uncomfortable company doesn't mean we must become stressful, uncomfortable people. The best way to cope with those circumstances is to refuse to mirror them.
Allies: Two of Coins
An ally can help you gain insight into your situation.
The card in the Allies position points to people who can be supportive or helpful to you at this time.
In this position, the Two of Coins advises that you find somebody who will enter into a dialogue or role-play with you, or even serve as a "devil's advocate." This person should ideally have good information and experience in the area where you feel stuck or thwarted.
Be sure to consider both sides, including the positions of an adversary if you have one. Let your ally guide you through all the dimensions of the problem. This process may lead you to discover that the situation is not as serious as you thought. In any case, you want your ideas to be as grounded as possible.
Advice: Three of Cups
Call your family together to support you and trust that the results will be just what you need.
The card in the Advice position suggests a course of action which will harmonize what you want with what is currently possible.
The Three of Cups in this position advises that you connect with your family and fully inform them about what's going on with you. Let them add substance to your ideas with their talent and imagination.
Think of this occasion as a barn raising, where their support helps you make quick work of a big job. There may be something here for everyone to contribute. Put yourself in the loving hands of your family connections and your trust will be rewarded. The synergy between you could enhance each individual's talent and creativity.
Long Term Potential: The Magician
What may have felt like a whim or passing fancy has the potential to grow into a creative, expressive and profitable venture.
The card in the Long-term Potential position points to unknowns still taking shape. It is the "wild card" yet to be played.
You are faced with an opportunity to create a whole new area in your life. Something that was lingering in the background has leaped forward and helped you reassess your priorities, hopes and dreams. It feels as if a missing ingredient is emerging that can complete the mix.
As you become aware of your interest and enthusiasm, it also dawns on those around you that you may hold the key to this situation. It's possible you will rethink career opportunities or find a new channel of expression. This could lead to a whole new sense of identity.

On the note of that, I'm ready to create that whole new opportunity.
The New Jack is about to be the only Jack available-I'm buying my own domain and hosting.
...And away we go...
