They Don't Know
It may seem foolish to many, however, this is my favorite R&B song...ever.
I literally remember being in a car being driven around Brooklyn staring at a full moon was the first time I ever heard this song. Even furthermore, it just seems like I have a knack for winding up with the men who are split in halves....
The side that everyone else knows and sees regularly and then the side that I usually have to tell people that they don't know about this here...
It's complicated.
It's far from the nicest position to be in when you want everyone to know the good of a person and that same person only insists on showing off the bad. And so, you wind up in the position of still having to explain and half argue to everyone that they don't know.
What I've realized though, is that a man can drive you to a point of no return that makes you inquire....
Do I know?
I'm insisting that they don't know, but do I really know?
In my last relationship, I couldn't have been proven more wrong about anything...
Because, they did know and I didn't have a clue..

112 Update: Slim featuring Ryan Leslie and Fabolous
Slim...
R. Les...
Loso, in case you didn't know so...
I'm still stuck on Slim's first single, "So Fly", preferably with the opening of Jadakiss and the ending of Yung Joc. Here's the video for the second single, "Good Lovin'"

Arrest Me, Please...
I definitely made up for some things Halloween '08...

The night of Halloween itself was hysterical with that being the quote I heard all night..long...
"Arrest me, please.."
"I'll leave with you to the precinct RIGHT now"
So many...immigrants, begged me for photos I was beginning to become confused as to WHO I am...
With the song, "Mrs. Officer" by Lil Wayne, this was by far the year to be a cop..
I LOVED everyone who sung to me..
We incurred some drama with Webster Hall however...
Being that they're completely unfocused, they well over booked and were well over capacity when we got there at 1AM. The party wasn't supposed to shut down until 5...
Our "friend" refused to exit, but it's all good she proved a lot that I already knew about her in that same night. She never fails to disappoint me, and somehow she always finds a way to outdo herself from her last failure.
Upset with the "friend" , we had to make up for it last night and it was a REALLY GOOD night to say the least. I debuted a new corset I purchased back in August..

(more on The New Jack Photos page)
It served its purpose, as I in an economic crisis drank for free all night. Last night was the right time for that debut! LOL! It was such a wild, confused crew last night...
The Long Island usuals, the crack-head usuals, and my Brooklyn unusuals...however, I was very pleased that we all blended together really nicely last night. So now, I spend my Sunday in recovery...
I definitely "beat it like a cop" all weekend long...

Rest Your Soul, Music Saves Your LIFE
I've been stalking this song for A WHILE..and I've FINALLY found it...
This commercial has been airing on the FUSE network, with this song in the background.
I'm also featuring it on my myspace page. His name is Ian Love, and I'm absolutely falling in L.O.VE. with him. At this exact moment, I'm sitting comfortably with grey sweats on, and a margarita glass full of Pineapple Parrot's Bay rum and Coke zero (you know, keeping that Jesikah Fitness going...) with this song on repeat. I absolutely love it.
In older Jason Mraz stature, geeky glasses, guitar and all Ian Love definitely looks like how Jason Mraz will look and act when Jason is in his late fourties.

No offense to Ian if he's not that old....
What I enjoy even more about Ian, not to sound unintelligent, I'm shocked to see that he's a Brooklynite himself. Love resides and records in Brooklyn.
...Interesante, I would have never guessed...
Be nice, friend Ian on myspace here

LES Artists-Santogold
If you know nothing about my new love for Santogold, you can read about my fellow Brooklynite who is spending her summer doing Rock The Bells...
For those who already know about who looks like the BFF of M.I.A. watch the video for the song I'm currently obsessed with, "LES Artists".
And you know you love this Converse commerical even MORE of Santogold, N.E.R.D and Julian Casablancas, "My Drive Thru"
Santogold is the truth!

When I Grow Up, I wanna be FIERCE
When I grow up....
I want to dance like this...
When I grow up, meaning.....next week, I want to be able to dance like this...
This is my boy Tk's video, he's a choreographer and he's fierce, with a big-ass F. He made this dance to the latest PussyCat Dolls single, "When I Grow Up".
Enjoy, and hate on my friend, cause he's fierce like that...
That's him in the front, choreographer himself...

Rock The Bells
As per reader request, I've been digging up on an artist thats name has crossed me several times but I've just never had the time to INVESTIGATE. After a true New York heatwave, where the highs have been near about 94 degrees I've locked myself up with my newly installed air conditioner and decided to look up Santogold.
Upon fine tooth combing her Myspace, I came across Rock The Bells, and here is what you need to know:
Name: Rock The Bells
What the f*** is this?: Concert/Festival Series
Represents: Several artists, including...get this, Wu-Tang Clan, Santogold and baby hood rat, Kid Sister.
Terms and Conditions:
"All tickets for Rock The Bells 2008 Festival are:
* All ages welcome.
* Rain or shine.
* No refunds or exchanges.
* Line up subject to change.
* All patrons subject to search.
* Photo ID required for all will call or guestlist ticket pick-ups."
Complete artist line-up: (subject to vary)
A TRIBE CALLED QUEST, NAS, MOS DEF, THE PHARCYDE, DE LA SOUL, METHOD MAN & REDMAN, RAEKWON & GHOSTFACE, IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE, DEAD PREZ, MURS, SPANK ROCK, WALE, JAY ELECTRONICA, SANTOGOLD, COOL KIDS, B.O.B, KIDZ IN THE HALL, AMANDA BLANK and HOSTED BY- B-REAL, SUPERNATURAL AND SCRATCH and DJ GREEN LANTERN
Your Wallet?: $39.50-$125.00 for tickets
For New Yorkers, your only shot at the show will be August 3rd at the Nikon Theater and Jones Beach. Being a resident of Long Island, I was quickly trying to get myself some tickets when I checked the calendar to remind myself that I will be very much in Jamaica, laying on white sand and "blowin' on asparagus, the realest shit I've ever smoked" {-Young Jeezy}
Whether in Jamaica or at the festival, we'll both be as high as Snoop Dogg and Gym Class...More than enough reason to Rock My Bells.

And Away We Go
In better news...
I've received my contract from Big Urban Mixtape. Naturally, you should be as excited as I am. I'm digging hard in the corners of my brain as to how to introduce myself to the crew of new readers.
I will, of course, be posting lots of information so that any current subscribers to The New Jack can also take a look at my writings there on Big Urban Mixtape. I'll be doing a slew of hip-hop everything-I'm forcing myself not to limit myself to one genre, like only hip-hop music. There is so much running through my brain that I'm somewhat blank.
In the meanwhile though, be sure to check out Big Urban Mixtape if you know what's good for you...

The Inspiration
According to my BFF, only gangsters tattoo their hands and faces....
Ironically, as I step into the tattoo parlor on Saturday night, with the vision of tattooing my hand and wrist, not only is this magazine on the chair that I was getting ready to sit on, but also Lil Wayne was performing on the one television in the room. My friends called it a true sign, so naturally, I went through with it.In such a rough week, some how I saw it fit to release so much pain through experiencing pain.
My work and love life situation have been dually stressful during the week that I thought would be the most stress free! My birthday week! The complete opposite has occurred and they are still, though less intense, spilling over into the now.
My hand definitely was one of the HOTTER sensations I've felt in this life. Doing my hip was somehow, seemingly easier than doing my hand...
I guess I'm truly hood now, huh..

Deja Vu
Mr & Mrs. Shawn Carter
(image:http://thisis50.ning.com/)Hov and Beyonce got married yesterday afternoon on top of his loft in Tribeca-Manhattan. Only 30 guests were invited. As reported by The Wendy Williams show on WBLS, callers called in with all the information on the streets. Several cop cars, white limousines all heading towards his apartment. Lebron James was in town, and there are photographs of Gwyneth Paltrow in one of the limousines trying to hide her face. There were people reporting a huge white tent being installed on top of the roof, and based on the candles/holders, tables, flowers and other decor it was Roman themed.
This information about the reason WHY they chose April 4th, 2008 is even more interesting. It's all about numbers according to Miss Info
I'll be seeing Jay-Z in concert in May, along with Mary J. Blige. Several radio stations are implying that Beyonce who is alleged to be in town for that time might do an appearance and a quick snippet at Madison Square Garden where the performance will be held. I'll have all those details, and video when I go: May 2nd.

Wind Up Doll
I'm so tense..
Not to mention tired...
But I'm still a bad bitch...
Its when you suddenly become employed and all the habits that you became used to while UNEMPLOYED suddenly stand out.
Like, the fact that it usually takes 30 minutes to get home, and today I made it back in 13-only missing 16 minutes of the Tyra show.
Cause I'm a bad bitch...
The last few days at my new place of employment I've been swamped with work. I've been in front of a computer for so long that I wonder how I bring myself to one right now to write.
I feel as if I don't have enough time on my hands. Over these next two weeks, I'll be moving in overdrive.
I need to:
Make business cards
Get my hair/nails done
buy The Significant a birthday gift 4/4/08
take care of my own birthday planning woes-4/11-4/14/08
pay Verizon
Lose weight for 4/11
not take a lunch break at work for the extra money on my check
Fix the "Zen" of my bedroom
Get my mother back from Florida
A possible NERD casting for the video for their first single
Cook everyday while my mother is on vacation IN FLORIDA
I can't even list the amount of things to be done.
I come home. Check e-mail. Possibly write a post. Eat-occasionally. Treadmill-occasionally. Talk to Nikki (my wife) and The Significant and pass out by 10:15. If you get me at 10:26 it MUST be a good night.
I am however, getting paid. The primary function NOT happening in the last 7 months.
I feel as if I'm a wind up doll though.
I'm moving at will, but simultaneously even when exhausted I'm just going, going, going....
Hopefully a better post from me REAL soon..

The People's Choice
Hot 97's Dj Envy dropped a SLEW of fantabulous new music today on my ride home from my FIRST day of work.
Red Cafe f/50 cent, Fabolous, Jadakiss-Paper Touchin remix
I enjoy THOROUGHLY..
Madonna f/Justin Timberlake-Four Minutes
My honest synopsis, its NOT that serious. It was a typical "Timbaland is the hottest nigga in the game, and J.T. is his lapdog, let me jump in between that sandwich cause I'm GUARANTEED a hit song without trying. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed in Madonna. THIS is not innovative. Innovative=Madonna. This=Newly signed pop star desperate for a hit.
Rick Ross f/T-Pain and Lil Wayne- The Boss remix
First off, this song is in CONSTANT rotation in my life. I'm CONSTANTLY quoting this song. Rick Ross is definitely in my TOP 5 of favorite rappers, I adore his fat gorilla ass. This song is HOT even with T-Pain's annoying ass on it. Using T-Pain is like using Timbaland, just cheaper...less money spent, for a GUARANTEED hit and GUARANTEED radio play. I tell The Significant when his Sprint phone breaks up that he sounds like T-Pain (LMAO! he gets so pissed)
Ne-Yo f/Kanye West-I'm not sure if this track I posted was the right one. I only heard a snippet of it on the radio cause Envy was moving so quickly. I do believe this is the right track, so take a listen.
Janet Jackson-Rock Wit U- As much as my BFF despises this song because "JANET JACKSON DOESN'T SING, SHE WHISPERS..I HAVEN'T HEARD HER GODDAMN VOICE IN 40 YEARS, STOP GIGGLING AND WHISPERING AND SING!"...Regardless, the pleasure principle is that this shit is cute. Its very catchy, PLEASE despite Janet whispering like Michael, have a listen..

Air Jordan
I've officially embarked upon employment. Not permanent, but a nice 3-month gig. I think everyone knows its been a LONG ways coming. I begin work on Tuesday here on Long Island and along with a new job, I'll be getting a car.
I'm trying very, very hard to control my excitement. I know that upon someone getting overly excited about something they tend to forget minor details about things that need to be taken care of, and wind up fucking up everything. Which is the LAST thing I want to do.
Brooklyn: I should be in Brooklyn on Monday I believe. Quickly and briefly, accompanying my mother. I'm going to have to hustle back towards Long Island to get payroll paper work sorted out.
Celebration: Last night, 4 of us got together and clinked some glasses in celebration of my newly found employment. It was a cute, very drunken time. In all the entertainment, one question, do YOU have sex with your shoes on ?
Mainly, Jordans?
HALLELUJAH!
